Frederick Nunn (1849->1897)

Frederick Nunn was born in Chegnors Court, Buckinghamshire in 1849. He is recorded as a photographic artist in Scarborough on the 1871 census. He worked from a number of studios until at least 1897. He was listed in the Shields Daily Gazette in 1877 under the heading “ Liquidations by Arrangement”. He was again in financial difficulty when it was reported in the Western Daily Press that he was receiving orders for bankruptcy in October 1888.

Nunn married M.A. Nunn who was born in Scarborough in 1848. They had 4 children recorded on the 1881 census 3 boys (C.R. (b.1874), I.H.C. (b.1876), E. (b.1879)) and a girl (C.B. (b.1878)). It is possible that another son was Joshua Nunn who was a practicing photographer in Scarborough in 1909.
