James Goodchild (1813->1864)

James Goodchild was the son of Beaumont and Sarah Goodchild, born in London in 1813/1814. He constructed a purpose-built studio adjacent to South Cliff Cottage, Ramsdale Road in 1854. He advertises a branch studio in Wakefield during 1854 and 1855 initially with Mr R. J. Howson. In adverts in 1856 he also lists premises in St Nicholas Street. He is living in Bradford in 1864 and mentioned as being late of South Cliffe Cottage, Scarborough.

He married Mary (b. c.1820) and had one Henry (b. c.1851). Mary died on 12 February 1857 and is buried in St Mary’s Churchyard. In 1859 he marries Eliza Ann (b. c.1830) in Bradford. Eliza Ann died on the 5 June 1864 aged 35.
