William Punderson Glaisby (1847-1919)

William Punderson Glaisby was the son of John Glaisby the owner of an arts business in Coney Street in York from 1848 to 1877 when the business moved Spurriergate. It is not known when Glaisby junior took up photography but at the age of 19 in 1866 he advertised his studio at the Assembly Rooms in Scarborough. By 1872 he was operating from his father’s business in York.
